Strawberry Sauce

This is delicious over ice cream, in milkshakes and stirred into a tall glass of lemonade.

1 pint strawberries
1/3 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon almond or vanilla extract

Wash berries and remove stems. Combine berries, sugar and extract in a medium saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Cook for five minutes stirring/breaking up strawberries constantly. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Transfer to a blender and pulse until desired consistency is reached.
